The Yarmouth Jolly

Good morning all,

Two very different experiences over the past couple of weeks for me – as you know, I was at Yarmouth last week, originally just to go to the dogs on the Wednesday night, but we managed to go racing, thanks to friends that couldn't make it, on the Tuesday and Wednesday.

And this week we were present at the Warwick trial on Monday which, sadly, looks like being the last racing the public look like attending for some time, quite possibly up to six months.

The why's and wherefore's of the implications of that are for another day, but my experiences of the first of my visits, Yarmouth, are on today's main piece.

Thursday Selections & Future Form

Good morning all,

Cabaret Queen made all and gamely held off a strong late challenge from Moyhenna to win yesterday's Kerry National. The margin of victory was just a nose at the line and having looked at the freeze frame photo you have to say the runner-up was unlucky not to grab a share of the spoils. My selection Spyglass Hill was badly hampered by a faller at the 10th and couldn’t recover. There will be other days for him.

It’s the start of Newmarket’s Cambridgeshire Meeting today. However, in all truth the eight-race card isn’t very exciting.  With the forecast good to firm ground has probably been playing its part in keeping the field sizes disappointingly low.

In today’s main piece I have had a look at couple of races on ITV. Plus, I continue to put some recent races under the future form microscope.
