Any Cheltenham Pointers?

Morning all,

The wagon rolls on to Worcester for me today, and after the hectic Saturday that was Leicester (1000 bets struck, thankfully a winning day) it'll be nice to just have a relatively relaxing afternoon and do a bit of paddock watching.

There's always some debate as to the value of paddock watching – I know good punters who have never been near a paddock in their lives, and they back a solid percentage of winners, I know punters who won't have a bet until they have seen their horse go down to the start – but for me, on a day like today, where there's a bumper and two Novice hurdles on the card, I find it a useful part of the armoury.

Particularly as Worcester, strangely enough, can often throw up a useful pointer or two. The likes of Neil Mulholland, Charlie Longsden and Dr Richard Newland often start off some good types here in the Summer that progress well through the Summer/Autumn and pick up good early-season prizes. As such, I'll be keeping a close eye on Sir Toby (4.40) and The Way You Dance (5.10), who will be interesting when he's handicapped, to see how they get on.Read More »Any Cheltenham Pointers?
