The Hockinhiem Grand prix takes us to the half way mark of the f1 season, and the drivers championship is wide open.

With 25points for coming 1st it means that any of the top 6 could become a world champion. Realistically you are still looking at the same top teams who will ultimately win Ferrari, Red Bull or McLaren. They have the budgets and tech to make upgrades and get the best out of the cars.

Ferrari; Felippe Massa who in my opinion has had his day, has struggled to get higher than 10th most races and only has 23 points so far, compared to his team mate Fernando Alonso who is leading the championship with 129 points. Ferrari have lacked top speed and this could be a factor in Germany .

Red Bull: Have had a mixed season this year and had a rare (these days) mechanical failure in the European, Sebastian Vettle ( 3rd 100points) was leading with a few laps to go when his car gave up.

Mark Webber has won 2 races this season with Red Bull, the only other driver is Alonso. He is coming to the end of his career, but is showing consistency with a top 4 place in 7 of the last nine races.

Vettle is experiencing a season of not being on pole and leading the race from start to finish. The red bullís are fast and Vettel would be a just few point from Alonso if his car had kept going . It ís his home race and he would love to win here, but never has.

McLaren: Come with a chassis update and this is where they have been struggling with the tyre wear.

Pirelli are the only tyre supplier this year and the tyres have proven difficult to get the cars set up to make the most of the tyres.

Lewis Hamilton (4th 92points) won here last year and it is his 100th grand prix. He has hinted that he wants a winning car and possibly a move to Ferrari which does not bode well for a happy Hamilton/ Mclaren relationship.

Jenson button sits in 8th (50points) and seems to be struggling. He won in Australia the first race of the season and its gone down hill from there. 5 of the 9 races he has been out of the top ten and qualified badly.

Germany outright win odds are Vettel 11/4, Alonso 9/2, Hamilton 6/1 Webber 13/2

My Money is on Webber 13/2 hills
