We only have an All Weather card at Lingfield today and I guess we're all pretty fed up with the weather by now.
But on the bright side I guess it gives us some time to think about our betting and the methods we use.
So with that in mind today we have a free pdf from Michael Wilding at Racing Dossier entitled The Good Guide to Selection Finding.
Here's what Michael says in the introduction…
If we want to progress at the fastest speed in any area, then we need a solid structure to base our learning and experimenta9on around. This is no different for
sports betting, and in particular horse racing.
But, when it comes to betting, suddenly the rules change. All usual methods disappear in the excitement of a “gamble”. It is this thrill of a possible big win that
keeps bookmakers in business. All common sense goes out the window and intelligent people begin doing things that, if they were thinking straight, they would
never consider doing. And this goes for people who make their livings from betting in other markets.
I know of some very successful traders in the city who make their living by gambling millions of pounds every year for the companies they work for. But, when it comes
to a horse race, all this knowledge and expertise disappears and they start making irrational decisions.
If we want to be profitable, then we MUST control this. We must learn to harness this thrill and channel it into something that is productive and of use to us. Namely,
the knowledge of how to find profitable selections.
