I made a booboo yesterday, the preview and tip was from the Betting School Insiders Club, but it was the work of Alan Dudman, so apologies to Alan who is a regular contributor and big race tipster in the club.
Today I do have something from Nick Hardman, who tips for the Betting School Insiders Club every weekend and at all the big festivals.
Below is his profile for the King George V Stakes.
The King George V Stakes (1m 4f handicap for 3yo)
A great race if you fancy an each-way bet, the King George V Stakes has produced some meaty priced winners over the years. Elidor was a 20/1 shot when winning in 2013 and Cosmic Sun was a huge 66/1 winner in 2009. Heron Bay was another big priced winner at 20/1 in 2007. Two trainers who target this race are Sir Michael Stoute and Mark Johnston who have both won it 4 times since 1998.

The best place to start is to look for a top 3 finish last time out. Only one winner has managed to defy this statistic since 1997. There have been 4 winning favourites since 1997 and 2 of those have come in the last 6 renewals. Winners do tend to come from the top ten in the market (19 of the last 20 winners) with the exception of Cosmic Sun who was the rank outsider when causing a huge upset in 2009.
Two or three runs in the current season look favourable and accounts for 16 of the last 20 winners. Horses rated 87+ have dominated with 16 winners since 1997 and that is also reflected in the weight carried by the winners in recent times with 8 of the last 10 winners shouldering between 8st 10lbs and 9st 3lbs.
Nine of the last eleven winners exited from a double figure stall and with an average of 16 to 18 runners in this race that looks like a pretty decent statistic to add into the mix.
So in summary, look for a horse that ticks as many of these boxes as possible and you'll have a likely winner.
