Once you've picked up your free PDF read on for four more horses to follow for the National Hunt season all rated 100 or below from David Massey, also on the main piece David's selection for today.
Blackfyre (Charlie Mann)
Wasn’t up to much on the Flat for Brian Meehan but four starts over hurdles, whilst a bit mixed, have seen him finish within shouting distance of a couple of useful sorts in Laskadine at Warwick and then Acey Milan at Plumpton. Was tried in a pair of cheekpieces on his handicap debut at Huntingdon in April but never travelled a yard in them, and finished tailed off. He has to be better than that, and is worth following.
Aclassagold (Deborah Faulkner)
Yet to really get going but caught the eye when fifth to the classy Dashel Drasher at Chepstow in January, not given a hard time once his chance had gone, and that wasn’t his first eyecatching effort at Chepstow either. Bit disappointing in two runs this spring, but possible he wants soft ground to show his best, and I wouldn’t be giving up on him yet.
The Mighty Ash (Fiona Shaw)
Worth inclusion as despite the fact he’s a 9yo that’s yet to win, there’s not that many miles on the clock and when he gets his conditions – which appear to be soft/heavy ground at his favourite track, Exeter, then he tends to run his race. To be fair, he has gone well away from Exeter as well and somewhere this year, when the mud is flying, there has to be a win in him.
Go On Mayson (Sam Thomas)
Twice caught the eye last year – first when finishing midfield at Newton Abbot and then a staying-on fourth at Bangor, a couple of runs that marked him out as having ability. He looked like something was wrong with him physically when we last saw him about a year ago, and even more worryingly that came in a selling handicap, but I have him on a list as one to watch if he reappears this season.
Today's selection is Metro Boulot Dodo in the 4:35 at Carlisle.
