New Feature!

Good morning all,

As you know, I'm always trying to think of new features we can use on the Punt to try and make your betting experiences as enjoyable as possible, and the other day, whilst thinking about a couple of possible Cheltenham ante-post bets I thought about an idea for here that might just work…

Details of that on the main piece, plus a pick from Huntingdon.

It was Wednesday when the Samcro news broke (I think) and the fact we are unlikely to see him again this term started me thinking – will O'Leary, despite his many, many protestations, now be tempted to move Apple's Jade to the Champion Hurdle now? Still unlikely, I'll grant you, but I wondered whether it was worth throwing a few quid at her all the same.

Then that set me off thinking whether, if he did, would Willie go for the Mares with Laurina, knowing how he loves an easy option if there's one available? Was the double worth having as well? So many questions…

Which again led me to think – racing questions, do Punt readers have any? It would be nice if I could give you my thoughts on anything you want me to try and answer – anything at all, doesn't have to be Cheltenham related – so to that end I have set up a new email account that you can fire your questions in on, and every Friday (or every other Friday, depending on how many questions I get!) I'll try and answer as many as I can. Could be fun…

The email address you need is puntquestions@gmail.com. Please note I won't reply via email but will try to do so on here each week. If it dies on the vine and no-one's interested I'll try something else, but let's give it a go. Look forward to all your questions!

Over at Huntingdon I cannot resist the 40-1 Skybet are offering (4 places) on my old friend That's The Deal in the 2.00. It's his 100th run today and I wonder whether his last couple of efforts have been all about getting him ready for this. He definitely needed his run at Southwell in December (held up, not his usual style) before running better here last time out, finishing third. He's out the handicap here but the way he pings these fences when on a going day makes that matter less. I'd love to see him booted out into the lead and attacking his fences, as he's a joy to watch when he does. Is there one last swansong in the old boy before retirement? Hope so…

Today's selection – That's The Deal 2.00 Huntingdon (e/w with Skybet, 4 places)

Good luck with all your bets today,

David.

David cannot get on the link for questions my question is your opinion on the draw at Southwell a Jockeys opinion yesterday Freddy Tyscklicki ?
Was the centre ground is the golden Highway – I attend regularly and my opinion is Low for 6-7f- Mid high for 5f over 1m inconsequential as you need to be prominent and a grinder ? what would be yours ?
