Henderson Debutantes Update

Back in November Daily Punt reader Derek shared a system with us for profiting from Nicky Henderson's charges having their first ever start.

You can read the original post here https://dailypunt.com/henderson-debutants-system/

Today I will update you on the results since we published that system.

There have been just 20 bets, so about 5 or 6 per month.

There have been 9 winners, which is a whopping 45% strike rate, which is very impressive for any live tested system.

The profit at industry SP is 25.63 points, which again is amazing and calculates to a whopping 128% ROI.Continue Reading

Odds on Jockey System

At the start of the flat season we put together two systems for finding odds on shots that were more likely to win.

Basically all we did was to look at jockeys that made a profit when following all their short priced rides and for trainers that made a profit with their short priced charges.

At the end of the turf season both systems had enjoyed a high strike rate and a return of investment in the 5 – 8% range.

Not outstanding but good enough for punters who can't tolerate long losing runs.

So I figured we should do the same for the All Weather.

Today the Jockeys.

Back the rides of these jockeys when they start at 6/4 or shorter.

Buick, William Crowley, Jim
Doyle, James Fallon, K
Havlin, Robert Hayes, C D
Hughes, Richard Keniry, L P
Lee, G Moore, Ryan
Morris, Luke Mullen, Andrew
OBrien, J P Probert, David
Queally, T P Spencer, Jamie
Winston, Robert

The 2014 results for this group are as follows…

Runs = 388
Wins = 225
Strike Rate = 57.99%
Profit at iSP = 48.26
Return on Investment = 12.4%

Up In Class by Trainer Nicky Henderson

So today I am getting started on the job of researching individual trainers at individual courses when their novice hurdlers step up in class.

I'm going to start off with Nicky Henderson, simply because he has the most runners of the trainers that we have selected for this system.

It may be a case the Nicky's charges are over-bet because of his status, but we'll look at the data and see what we can find.

Because we are drilling down deeper and deeper the number of runners meeting a set of criteria will be less and less and it may be tricky to determine if a strike rate and profit is significant or not.

When looking at which courses are most profitable for Nicky Henderson, novice hurdlers that are upped in class, I have only looked at courses where there have been at least 10 qualifiers in the last 10 years.

Here's the table…

Nicky Henderson Novice Hurdlers Table

What jumps out is the huge profit (ROI) and strike rates at Huntingdon, Kempton and Ludlow.

Nicky Henderson is based in Upper Lambourn which is on the M4 and relatively convenient for the top class venues of Newbury, Cheltenham, Ascot, Kempton and Sandown.

Of the courses listed above Huntingdon is the furthest at around 100 miles from base.

I'm not sure if we should read something into the class of the tracks, I suppose I'm surprised that Towcester isnt in the profit list, but the stats don't lie. This is definitely how it panned out in the past, let's hope it can steer us towards some winners in the future.

Today's Selection

5.10 Pontefract Dark Ruler – win bet – 5/1 Bet Victor
