The first of the big flat handicaps, the William Hill Lincoln, goes off at 3.15 tomorrow.
Today I'm going to look through some trends for the race.
Before I do I just want to mention that there is still time to get on with Mark Foley's free tipping service offer that I mentioned yesterday.
Mark's book is already the number 1 seller in the Gambling category at Amazon Kindle.
Ok so key stats from past runnings of the Lincoln.
Age: Only two horses over six years old have won in the last 30 runnings.
Distance: All of the last ten winners had previously won over a mile or further.
Previous Wins: Nine of the last ten winners have won more than twice previously.
Official Rating: Eight of the last ten have been rated 98 or lower. Eight have been rated 95 or higher.
That last stat excludes the favourite, Eton Forever. Favourites have been profitable over the last ten years with wins at 3/1, 10/3 and 5/1. But my feeling is that Eton Forever needs to improve.
So we are left with a shortlist of four all at big prices.
Mull of Killough 16/1
Dont Call Me 20/1
Of those four Mull of Killough looks to be the one with a little in hand and at a good eachway price is my selection.
Newcastle 5.45 Victor Hewgo – win bet
Wolverhampton 6.25 Bilidn – win bet
