County Hurdle & Grand Annual Tips

Nick Hardman has hit a couple of big ones this week and today he shares his selections for the County Hurdle and the Grand Annual.
=============
I have been covering the Cheltenham Festival for the members of the Betting School and so far our trends analysis of the handicap races has picked out 25/1 winner Qualando (Fred Winter) and 14/1 winner The Package (Kim Muir) as well as placed horses Generous Ransom @9/1 & Horizontal Speed @14/1 (Novice Handicap Chase), Volnay De Thaix @20/1 (Coral Cup), The Tourard Man @25/1 (Pertemps), Rawnaq @25/1 (Festival Plate) and Bless The Wings @28/1 (Kim Muir).

Today I can share with you the trends analysis of the Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle and the Grand Annual.

For the County Hurdle we are looking for a horse that is a 5yo, finished in the top 5 LTO, has had 3 – 5 runs in the current season, is rated between 132 and 139, last raced 31 – 60 days previously, is Irish trained or trained by Paul Nicholls, priced 10/1 higher and is in the top 10 in the betting.Read More »County Hurdle & Grand Annual Tips

Sound Investment (adv. 11/2) gave us another big race winner last week and today we turn our attention to a couple of trainers with an excellent recent record at Ayr as well as a trends based analysis of the Imperial Cup at Sandown on Saturday.

The first of our trainers to note at Ayr is Nicky Richards.  Since the beginning of 2014 he has sent out 13 winners from 34 runners at a strike rate of 38% and a level stakes profit of £12.25.  Even more impressive is the fact he has had 5 winners from 11 runners in 2015 for a level stakes profit of £10.72.  12 of those winners have been ridden by Brian Harding and this trainer/ jockey combination have a few entries today.Read More »Nick Hardman Tips

Some people argue that speed is the only real way to judge a horses chance of winning a race…

But as with all things racing, it is never quite that simple.

Speed of course is related to distance.

It is the time it took the horse to run the race divided by the distance that gives us the speed at which the horse travelled.
