Just the four races from Newmarket on ITV but two of them are Group 1’s — the Cheveley Park Stakes (2:25) for the 2yo fillies followed by the colt’s equivalent, the Middle Park Stakes (3:00). The big betting race is the bet365 Cambridgeshire (3:40). Add in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes (1:50) and you have a cracking eight-race card at Newmarket. Besides the four races from Newmarket ITV Racing are also covering a couple of races from Haydock.

Sunday’s big race is the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh which has €600,000 on offer in guaranteed prize money.

I’m back from the Isle of Man after being totally switched off from the racing for a few days. Until I looked at Friday’s cards, I hadn’t even glanced at the results.

ITV Racing are live with the first five races from Newmarket’s Cambridgeshire Meeting, including three Group contests. The Group 2 Rockfel Stakes (2:25) and the Joel Stakes (3:00) headline the card. Away from Flat action, ITV also show the £70,000 trustatrader.com Fixed Brush Hurdle Series Final Novices' Handicap Hurdle (2:42).
