Friday Royal Ascot

Hi all,

I had another fantastic day at Royal Ascot courtesy of wins by Going The Distance, Port Fairy and English Oak.

However, I’m still perplexed by the ride William Buick gave King’s Gambit in the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes. Yes, I know I’m talking through my pocket, I had a good bet on him, but that was a dire ride from one of our top jockeys. I only lost £37 but connections lost a lot more.

I think we’ve had a three great day’s at Royal Ascot and even King’s Gambit ride hasn’t dulled my enjoyment of the meeting

We move onto Friday’s Royal Ascot card.

Royal Ascot – Day 4

It’s a fabulous Friday of action at Royal Ascot. Another seven race card features two Group 1 contests. The Coronation Stakes (3.45) sees Aidan O’Brien have the warm favourite in recent Irish 1,000 third Opera Singer. It looks a cracking renewal of the Coronation Stakes and you can give five of the ten runners strong claims.

Forty minutes earlier the top 3-year-old sprinters to take centre stage for the Commonwealth Cup (3.05). The Royal Ascot undercard also includes the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes (5:40), the Group 3 Albany Stakes (2:30) which kicks off the day’s racing and three 20 + runner handicaps. I have covered the Albany Stakes for Geegeez so if you want to read my race preview and why I liked a 25/1 shot you need to head over there.

I have more selections for Victor Value subscribers on Friday.
