The final declarations for Saturday’s racing came out yesterday. It’s shaping up into a cracking weekend of action across both sides of the Irish Sea.
Friday Preview
It’s the first of two days of racing at Ascot and there’s another day of sport at Haydock. Here’s a couple of interest from Haydock.
Haydock
3:45 – Prairie Falcon has yet to win in 2023 but went close at Doncaster in July. He did best of those who came from the rear when a 2 ½ length 3rd of 9 at Thirsk three weeks ago. Competitively weighted and the cheekpieces go on for the first time. Handily drawn in stall 5 and should go close.
4:55 – Alpine Stroll won twice last season. The 5-year-old has failed to get into the winners circle this time around but has finished runner-up twice this season. Needs to bounce back from a lesser run in a more competitive race at Sandown last time. However, if he does he’s back down to handy mark.
