Showcase Eyecatchers

Hi all,

There were plenty of strong performances at Cheltenham’s Showcase meeting. The midweek rain ensured competitive fields and proper jumping ground. Fingers crossed the unsettled weather continues, so Ascot and Wetherby enjoy similar conditions on Saturday.

Inside today’s main piece, you’ll find my take on the Cheltenham Showcase action.

O’Brien Dominates Juvenile Group 1’s

Hi all,

We can safely say the jumps are back after Cheltenham’s Showcase meeting on Friday and Saturday. The two-day card drew strong fields and competitive racing on good ground. It was an informative start to the season and should provide plenty of clues for the months ahead.

The National Hunt scene is now moving into top gear. Big races are coming thick and fast, starting with next Saturday’s Grade 1 BetVictor Champion Chase at Down Royal and the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.

Before the Flat season finally draws to a close, there’s still top-class action to enjoy. The Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar next weekend kicks off a fantastic spell of international flat racing.

Despite the competing claims of Cheltenham’s Showcase meeting. In today’s main piece, I’m reviewing the weekend’s big-race action on the Flat.

Futurity Winner Inside

Hi all,

A cracking mix of jumps and flat action this Saturday.

It’s Day Two of Cheltenham’s Showcase meeting with strong fields and a competitive seven-race card. At Doncaster, it’s Futurity Trophy Day – featuring the final Group 1 of the British Flat season, the William Hill Futurity Trophy (2:05). Just six line up, three from Ballydoyle.

There’s also good fare at Newbury, where the highlights are the Group 3 BetVictor Horris Hill Stakes (3:10) for juveniles and the BetVictor St Simon Stakes (3:45).

Despite the competing claims of Cheltenham’s Showcase meeting, in today’s main piece the focus is on the three ITV races from Doncaster.
