My first look at the ante-post Cheltenham markets has thrown up a couple of bets, one of which probably won’t come as any surprise given this years post-Cheltenham comments, and one that has grown on me a bit after last week.

The Yarmouth Jolly

Good morning all,

Two very different experiences over the past couple of weeks for me – as you know, I was at Yarmouth last week, originally just to go to the dogs on the Wednesday night, but we managed to go racing, thanks to friends that couldn't make it, on the Tuesday and Wednesday.

And this week we were present at the Warwick trial on Monday which, sadly, looks like being the last racing the public look like attending for some time, quite possibly up to six months.

The why's and wherefore's of the implications of that are for another day, but my experiences of the first of my visits, Yarmouth, are on today's main piece.

Goodwood highlights and Naas tip

Good morning all,

Glorious weather and glorious racing. However, it was still a surreal experience given the lack of racegoers at Goodwood last week.  Watching the Galway Festival unfold was even stranger.  That’s one racing festival that is as much about the craic and the social as the horse racing.

In today’s main piece.  I will be looking back at my highlight performances from ‘Glorious’ Goodwood, spectators returning to British racecourses and I have a selection from Naas.
