Ayr On A G-String

Good morning all,

Back home after two glorious days in the sunshine at Yarmouth, it's been a really enjoyable experience and there's been a few I like the look of for the future – I'll start putting them together in a couple of Eyecatchers bulletins for early next week when there's not much in the way of racing taking place.

A quiet couple of days at home for me then, before it all begins again, and with the likes of Hexham and Warwick now restarting their seasons, you know the jumps is starting to get into full swing too.

For the next few days though, it's Ayr that takes centre stage. The big handicaps on Saturday is where I'll be focusing most of my attentions once declarations are out later on, but there's usually two or three races each day that's worthy of a second look, so that's where today's selections are coming from.

The Worst Car Park In The World

Good morning all,

Well yesterday went well with Medburn Dream winning at an SP of 12-1 but there was plenty of bigger prices around in the morning and I hope one or two of you took advantage. Wadswick Court was a good winner at Cartmel too, and only the main selection let us down for the treble!

It's Worcester on the cards for me today, not the greatest racing in the world but it is competitive and there's an interesting Juvenile Hurdle on the card that's worth going for a look at. I'll give you my best bets on the card a little later on. Read More »The Worst Car Park In The World

The Long Weekend

Good morning all,

The start of the last Bank Holiday Weekend before Christmas (there's a frightening thought) sees plenty of racing across the country and although thunderstorms will be moving in later on today, it hopefully won't spoil our enjoyment of what promises to be an interesting day's racing.

As now tends to be the case on a Saturday, I had a root through the TV races yesterday and came up with a guide for the majority of today's action at Beverley, Newmarket and Goodwood. Here's hoping for a few winners.

The Sound Of….Seagulls

Good morning all,

The start of what looks a busy old week coming up for me, with fixtures both North and South that I'll be attending. And the first of those comes today, as I awake to the sound of (hungry, I'm guessing) seagulls at half past six this morning on Hove's seafront, as I'm off to the second day of Brighton's August fixture.

Brighton, much like Fakenham, is one of those tracks you have to visit at least once in your racing life, despite being well out of your way. I first visited here a couple of years ago and rather fell in love with the place, for some inexplicable reason, and try to come here at least once a year.
