Saturday Royal Ascot

Hi all,

Inside today’s main piece you’ll find my Saturday Royal Ascot Placepot suggestions

I've put in a big shift for Victor Value subscribers this week, writing extensively and studying more horse than I care to count. Unlike other pundits, I spend more time on Royal Ascot than Cheltenham. It's been a challenging yet immensely enjoyable week of racing. Another two winners on Friday mean whatever happens on Saturday I've made a profit at Royal Ascot and that's the key.

I'm at a Friend's 60th Birthday meal beween 2pm and 5pm so I won't be watching the final day's action live and I won't even be taking a sneaky look at the races.

Royal Ascot – Day 5

The action concludes with the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (3:45), the feature race of a seven-race card. Mill Stream, who won the Group 2 1895 Duke Of York Clipper Stakes at York last time, heads the ante post betting. He faces 13 rivals, and while he's a progressive young sprinter, it’s an open-looking race and I really fancy one against him.

The undercard also includes the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes (3:05), where St Leger winner Continuous is a short-priced favourite to make a winning seasonal return. Saturday’s big betting race is the 28-runner Wokingham Handicap (5:05). On Friday morning, the bookies were going 9/1 the field, which seems about right.

As ever this week has been a rollercoaster but a very enjoyable one. On one level I’m glad its over but it will leave a big gap next week. I have enjoyed sharing my Royal Ascot insights with those of you who joined Victor Value service for the Royal meeting and Geegeez readers.

I'll be back on Monday with a two-part series reflecting on the five days of Royal Ascot.

Good luck with your Saturday Royal Ascot bets!

John
