Football & Racing Tips

Yesterday Nick Hardman gave his fancies for the 2,000 Guineas and I've included those below.

But first we have a football bet from The Alternative Punters Syndicate (TAPS).

TAPS also provide racing and sports bets as part of their membership and give a free trial to new members – click here.

It’s Classic weekend with the 2000 and 1000 Guineas taking place at Newmarket.

I am covering the meeting for the Betting School Insiders Club and hopefully we can build on our profits made at Cheltenham and Aintree.

I think the two Classic races are wide open and I am taking one of the market leaders and a lively outsider in the 2000 Guineas.

Only one winner in the last 20 years has come from outside the top 6 in the betting (Night Of Thunder last year) so it has paid dividends to look at the front end.

Gleneagles is a worthy favourite but plenty short enough whilst French raider Territories could be anything.

The fact he has been supplemented for this means connections must be confident he is a Guineas horse.

Ol Man River looks the Ballydoyle second string but is a Group 2 winner over 1 mile as a juvenile and is a value alternative to Gelneagles at 7/1.

Intilaaq burst onto the Guineas scene when supplemented following his win in a maiden at Newbury two weeks ago.

Ivawood is the pick of Richard Hughes from the Hannon runners but he has done all his winning over sprint trips, which has to be a slight concern.

Estidhkaar was a dual Group 2 winner over 7f as a juvenile and the mile should be within his compass, despite his pedigree having a heavy speed bias.

Elm Park looks a Derby horse being out of triple Group 1 12f winner Phoenix Reach.

Of those at the top of the market I think Estidhkaar and Ol Man River offer a bit of value against the top two.

At a bigger price, Celestial Path is definitely one I will be backing each way as he is out of 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand and Miss Kittyhawk, daughter to 2000 Guineas runner up Hawk Wing.

With Bet365 going ¼ odds, 4 places it will be Estidhkaar @8/1 and Celestial Path @25/1 each way for me.
