A decent winner last weekend from wily old Mick Easterby and I have gone with two again this week – mainly because I struggled to split them and I knew if I went with just one, that the other would romp to victory!
The stats – well a quick glance at my guide under Trainer/Jockey combos for handicaps here shows me that Tim Easterby/R Richardson were 5/19,6 places +47 points here in the last three seasons, before this one. Likewise O'Meara/Tudhope are 8/35,17 places here when they team up in ‘standard' handicaps, for +13 points SP. These two are still performing 16% above market expectations and the other pair are 73% above market expectations – that is important for long term profit and hopefully these partnerships will leave us with some profits over the season here.
The horses…well Bond Bomshell likes to get on with it and is well drawn to do so. He looks like he is ready for this step up in trip and it could be ideal. He ran well enough on his return and may come on for the run. Unlike most in here he has proven form on good to firm also. He should run his race.
Ponty Royale's only win has been at this distance and she has a bit of form at Beverley on good to firm to suggest this should be fine. There are a handful of runners drawn high who like to get on with it and that should help. She is held up usually so will need a bit of luck in running but should be closing come the line. Again she may come on for her reappearance and looks sure to get competitive.
My guide has been doing well so far this season. Indeed in just this month the main trainer systems per track are showing a profit of +20 points. So far so good.
