I had my Covid seasonal booster on Sunday. I have to say I didn’t feel a thing yesterday but on Monda I felt a bit achy and under the weather. That meant no Pontefract for me. I will ne wait for the seasonal finale on October 17^th. Still, I managed to cheer on a Surrey Mist and Cisco Disco to their respective successes.

One of the column’s readers Mike asked me about three Ralph Beckett juveniles who won at Salisbury last Thursday and whether they would be worth putting in the tracker. I’m glad Mike asked me. I want this column to be more interactive and if anyone else wants me to look at horses that horses ran the previous week.  I will if time allows be happy to oblige.

There’s no racing in Britain today as it’s the Queen’s funeral at Westminster. However, there’s racing In Ireland at Listowel and Fairyhouse.

Doncaster’s St Leger Festival gets underway on Wednesday. The Leger Legends Classified Stakes (3.00) will be the highlight for many racegoers on day one of the St Leger Festival. However, the Group 3 Japan Racing Association Sceptre Fillies' Stakes (3.35) and the Listed Cazoo Scarbrough Stakes (4.10) are the quality contests of a seven-race card on Town Moor.

There’s plenty of rain forecast for the next few days and if it does materialize then we could see some upsets to the form book. I will be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast over the next few days.
