Newton Abbot Colossus

Good morning all,

I was at Southwell on Monday, having a high old time of it and backing a couple of winners (for a pleasant change) when Steve, a regular at Southwell along with his wife Julie and long-time followers of the Daily Punt, suddenly chirped up. “Why don’t you do Colossus bets anymore?”

Well, the truth of it is, I do them mainly through the winter as a) I have more time on my hands, as I’m gallavanting about less and b) I like to stick to jump racing, so again, summer really is the wrong time of the year for me.

However, I find myself with slightly more time on my hands this week, and it’s Newton Abbot, so, just for you Steve, let’s have a crack at it and see if we can land a decent pot today.

Thirsk Fancies

Good morning all,

It’s not quite “Super Saturday”, we have that to look forward to the following week. However, we do have Group 1 action with the Coral Eclipse at Sandown (3:35). We also have a potentially good card at Haydock with the Lancashire Oaks (2:40) and the Old Newton Cup Handicap (3:15) the highlights of a seven-race card. You can see the best of the action from both courses on ITV Racing.

Inside today’s main piece. I'm looking ahead to Saturday's action and a 12/1 shot in the mile handicap at Sandown. Plus, I have a few of interest running at Thirsk this afternoon.
