Happy New Year!

Good morning all,

Well, what a lovely way to finish the year off, an 18-1 winner at Warwick! Thanks for all the kind messages. Let's hope we can kick the New Year off with a winner at Cheltenham to go with it!

Tough card, but my views on three of the bigger races of the day are on the main piece.

Christmas Eyecatchers

Good morning all,

I'm catching up with the racing from over the Christmas period (slowly but surely!) and there's quite a few that catch the eye. A couple might well have Cheltenham targets, but there are a few others that ought to be winning in midweek races too, so there's something for everyone.

Plus a big-priced selection from Uttoxeter.

Haydock Preview

Morning all,

The big race caravan comes to halt today and after all the sustained quality of the last few days, it’s a bit of relief.

There are just three meetings today. Jump cards at Haydock and Taunton and a tea time all-weather fixture at Wolverhampton.

Inside today’s main piece I look back at yesterday’s action at Leopardstown and Newbury. Plus, a couple of today’s races at Haydock come under the microscope.

Newbury Preview

Morning all,

It’s the final days of Leopardstown & Limerick’s Christmas meetings. This side of the Irish Sea there are three jump fixtures at Newbury, Doncaster and Kelso and all-weather jumps card at Southwell.

At Leopardstown where there are two Grade 1 contests. There’s also a competitive card at Newbury where the feature race is the Grade 1 Challow Novices Hurdle (3:05).

ITV are covering the best of today’s action from Newbury (five races), Leopardstown (two races), and Doncaster (2 races).

I begin today’s preview at Newbury with ITV races. As ever my betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.

Inside today’s main piece I’m looking at three of the Newbury races. First though a look back at the highlight performances from yesterday’s Leopardstown card.
