Big Profit from Multiples

Do you bet in multiples?

Doubles, trebles or acca's (accumulators)?

I have always been of the opinion that these types of bets are just for the bookies benefit and have always avoided them, even though there is a promise of huge profits if they come off.

I do remember a few years back reading an article about how if you are making value bets, if you combine them into doubles or trebles that you magnify the advantage that you have because the value multiplies. But that didnt change my methods.

The results from yesterday's Racing Consultants tips have caused me to think again.

Yesterday they gave three selections to be combined into a half point each way Trixie.

A Trixie is 3 doubles (eachway doubles in this case) and a treble, so four bets.

The guys managed to land 2 of the bets, the advised prices were 6/1 and 9/1 (there was a 10p rule 4 on the 6/1)

A £5 eachway Trixie where only two of the horses won paid £376, which is a £336 profit!

That's a big return from getting just two bets home.

But the thing that really surprised me is that if they had got all three home the return would have been £5,620 for a £40 outlay.

(The non runner was 11/1)

I need to re-think my betting and staking strategy.

Do you bet in multiples? Tell me in the comments, if you've had any big wins tell me that also.

Take Advantage of the Frankie Factor

Do you remember the day that Frankie Dettori went through the card at Ascot?

If you don't remember then you have surely heard of it.

As the meeting progressed the bookies realised that they had 50p and £1 accumulators running into 6 figure liabilities.

And so they slashed the prices on Frankie's mounts.

In the last Fujiyama Crest should have been a 12/1 shot, but the weight of money from the big bookmaker chains forced that in to 2/1 to limit their liabilities.

And in reality the money they sent to the course should have shortened it to odds on, but for the brave on course bookies who decided a 7 timer was impossible and to lay it for all they had.

Barry Dennis stood it for £23,000 (this was 1996) when his previous biggest losing day had been £5,000.

He was convinced he had done the right thing. He was laying a 12/1 shot at 2/1, you can't get better value than that!

Gary Wiltshire was much bolder about taking the value and faced liabilities of £800,000 and a very difficult few years, having had to sell his house and cars.

Of course things have changed since then, with everybody linked up to Betfair.

But small stake accumulators still have an impact on betting markets and today I have details of a free system which exploits this situation to make us regular profits.

Weapons Grade Betting Coup

Barney CurleyIf you're on Twitter or Facebook. Or if you watch the racing channels or keep up to date with the Racing Post news page through out the day then you will have surely realised there was a betting coup going down yesterday.

The value of which depends on how quickly you found out about it.

Unfortunately I was out all day yesterday and didn't hear about it until after the 1st two winners had gone in.

By that time the remaining two horses were trading at odds on prices, so the boat was missed by me 🙁

The bet that was landed was an accumulator on four horses 10-1 Eye Of The Tiger, 6-1 Seven Summits, 20-1 Indus Valley and 7-1 Low Key.

That's an accumulator of 12,935/1.

So just a tenner staked returned £129,350. The man at the heart of this gamble will have got those odds, but many thousands will have had the same bet but at much, much lower odds.

To find out more about Barney Curley and his previous gambles you can read his autobiography.
