Good morning all,

A couple to follow on the main piece today, both of whom really caught the eye on Monday, and I'm sure there's races in both. To tie everything up nicely, there's one from the last Eyecatchers list going at Chepstow today too!

M' Lady May (Katy Price)

Ran Monday, Hereford.

M'Lady May had already run with a degree of respectability at Ffos Las last month, despite only beating a couple home, and I was keen to see how she'd get on here. It's fair to say connections are very much looking for a handicap mark with her as the anchors were well and truly on for the first two-thirds of this contest, but once asked to make headway, cut through the back markers with a degree of ease and just about tagged herself onto the back of the main group. However, no sooner had she got there than she found them quickening up again, and she was left with a lot to do. However, in finishing fifth here, well clear of the sixth, she's not run at all badly, and has again clocked a reasonable speed figure. One more run and into handicaps she goes – 2m on decent ground will suit.

UAE Soldier

Ran Monday, Plumpton

The fact he's on his third trainer after just six runs, and it took Roger Varian all of one run to decide he was no good and get rid of him will be more than enough for most folk to give him the heave-ho but on two hurdles starts he already looks like making up to be a reasonable low-grade handicap hurdler, if Paddy Butler can keep him on the straight and narrow. He'd shown a bit more when sixth here last month and this run only backed that up – front rank from the outset, jumping really quickly and fluently in the main, and he was the only one that could stay with the main protagonists from halfway. Unsurprisingly he's paid the price for that late on, the heavy ground not helping either, and he faded for sixth, but again, one more run and he qualifies for handicaps – if he can't win one on what he's shown so far, I'll be amazed. 2m and decent ground will be his thing.

Over to Chepstow today and Oathkeeper, on the last Eyecatchers list, is worth a bet in the 2.40. He stayed on nicely at Exeter last time out, looking ready to win one soon, and conditions here look ideal. Ought to go close.
