I've just been having my second or third read of this months Racing Ahead magazine.
There is an interesting piece on page 36 about how different trainer and jockey partnerships perform on the All Weather.
There are some big level stakes winning combinations.
And also some big losers for the layers! (We'll look at these later in the week)
In the winners enclosure 26% of the time is James Doyle when he rides for Frank Sheridan.
This combo shows a £65 level stakes profit, unfortunately Franks out without James today.
With a higher strike rate but lower level stakes profit is Lee Newman when he rides for David Barron.
As he does today in the 2.15 at Southwell on Magilini.
The jockey trainer numbers for Lee and David are 36% strike rate for the win.
An impressive 63% strike rate for the place and a level stakes profit of £24 from just 22 runs.
Which makes that > 100% return on investment.
In the 3.45 at Southwell Brian Ellison has two running.
The favourite Global Village is ridden by Barry McHugh.
When these guys have worked together in the past the strike rate for the win has been 32% and for the place 52%.
For level stakes at SP they have pretty much broken even.
Global Village has recently hit his peak form again and is our selection today.
This trainer jockey strike rates is worth a read and you can get it for just £2.99 at your nearest WH Smith.
(I usually find it in my local Tesco or subscribe here RacingAhead.net)
