Josh’ Weekend Gambit

4.55 Haydock – Gambit 7/1

For today’s post I am going to focus on Haydock and specifically Tom Dascombe. One user of my Trainer Track Profiles Stats Guide managed to pick out and back his 50/1 winner there on Friday, as well as his other winner at 6/1 in the last. They add to recent winners at 16/1 and 8/1 in recent meetings.

There is one horse who ‘qualifies’ on the same stats used to find that 50/1 poke…

Gambit 7/1…

In the last three years, before this season started, Tom Dascombe’s handicappers here running over 10-10.5f were… 18 bets / 9 wins / 10 places… +36 SP. After Friday’s 50/1 winner those stats have been improved somewhat!

Dascombe’s ‘normal’ (not nurseries, selling handicaps etc) handicappers are profitable to back blind here – 85 bets / 15 wins / 26 places / 18% sr / +13 SP / +30 BFSP / AE 1.31 (stats before season begun)

Gambit also has Richard Kingscote on top and when he teams up with the Dascombe handicappers here they were: : 62 bets / 13 wins /21 places / 21% sr / +27 SP / +43 BFSP / AE 1.42 (again, before the season started – improved with a winner of the last on Friday)

So, stats wise, Gambit has a lot going for him and whether or not he wins today you have a few stats there to follow for the future, that will continue to pay over time.

In terms of his form chance – well this race is full of unexposed horses, being a handicap for 3 year olds. He won his second start, a maiden, impressively and on what they have done to date is the best horse in the race, on ratings. He has course experience also. I don't know what happened last time but the way he folded suggests it may just be one of those runs that you can put a line through. Clearly there is more to come at some point and we know the yard is in form. At 7s I was happy to take a chance.

Dascombe also runs Golden Glimmer and Captain Revelation on the card and they may be worth a second glance, the former in particular looking interesting on handicap debut.

As always, if you would like to get your hands on a free report full of similar stats to those above, you can do so HERE>>> It may help you find a 50/1 winner!

Happy Punting,

Josh
