One of my biggest wins of the Cheltenham Festival was Champagne Fever which we tipped up here at 7/1.
We won't get anything like that price today but I'm going to re-invest today as Champagne Fever bids to win the Herald Novice Hurdle on day 1 of the Punchestown Festival.
Supreme Novices Hurdle winners have a good record in this race as do horses trained by Willie Mullins.
This is a sharper track than Cheltenham but Champagne Fever is a course winner in a bumper last year.
The next highlight of the day after the Novice Hurdle will be the Boylesport Champion Chase when we get to watch Sprinter Sacre dominate a small field.
I wouldn't normally bet at 1/7 but I will have a bet just so I can watch the race streaming via my Bet 365 account.
Punchestown Festival Selections
Punchestown 4.20 Champagne Fever – win bet – 13/8 Will Hill
Punchestown 5.30 Sprinter Sacre – win bet – 1/7 Bet 365, Paddy Power, Bet Victor, Sky Bet
Punchestown is not a sharper track than Cheltenham it is 2 miles round.
Great, tipping sprinter sacre at 1-7, I will rush down to the bookies and have my £10 on that.
i am not sure what happened to the concept of value betting here! I went to the bookies at lunchtime and watch Sprint Sacre sprint to the finish line! I kept my tenner in my pocket. A return of £1.43 on my tenner did not whet the appetite. Looking forward to a return to form. I think it one of those periods of drawdown, we look forward to getting over our hurdle rates!
Cheers!
Your champagne was flat and even Stevie Wonder would of tipped Sprinter Sacre!!!come on please
