I've done a little more research on our trainers that do well in Claimers and I'll update you on that shortly.
First a couple of news items to share…
Bet Victor are now Non Runner No Bet on the Grand National, so if your selection doesnt run you get your money back. This might be useful if you are thinking of taking a price on something.
Secondly one of the services we have recommended previously had a cracking Cheltenham with 75 points profit from the four days of the festival. The service in question is Nicky Doyle's Bet Alchemist, here's what Nicky says…
The timing is perfect to get on board as I have some excellent bets lined up for the Irish Grand National & Powers Gold Cup at the Fairyhouse Easter FestivalMeeting, all the top races including the Grand National at the Aintree Festival not to mention the Punchestown Festival later in April. The service continues throughout the summer with bets in all the top flat and NH races like the English, Irish & French Guineas, all the Derby’s, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood July meeting etc etc.

So I've done some more research into the Claiming Trainers that I mentioned yesterday and have discovered a few things.
First off there were a number of the trainers that had results skewed by one or two big priced winners, with one trainer getting home two 25/1 winners in the one year, but not much else in the way of profit.
So some investigation on what might be the right upper boundary on the price is needed, with 12/1 looking to be the more sensible cut off.
There are also a number of the trainers that were profitable 6 or 7 years ago but things have changed more recently. What we really want to uncover is a trainer tactic that is ongoing so preference would be for a trainer that has consistent profits year on year or one that was a loser in these races previously but now consistently profits. Which would suggest something has changed or been learned.
Work goes on…
